Who we are

If you fill in our contact form

We collect your name, your email address, your company name if you give it, and whatever you write in the message.

We use it to reply to you and to have the conversation you asked for. Nothing else. The lawful basis is our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us, and taking steps at your request before entering into a contract.

We keep enquiries for twelve months if they do not lead to work, so that we can pick up a conversation you come back to. If we end up working together, your details move into our client records and are kept for as long as we work together and for six years afterwards, because that is how long tax records have to be kept.

Your message goes to our own mail server. It is not sent through a third-party marketing platform, and it is not added to any mailing list.

If we contact you first

We approach small businesses directly about our service. If we have written to you or rung you without you contacting us first, this section is the one that applies to you.

Where we got your details. From public sources only: your own website, Companies House, a job advertisement you published, a public business directory or business profile, or from you directly at a networking event. We do not buy contact lists. We record where every contact came from and when, and if you ask us we will tell you exactly which source it was.

What we hold. Your business name and details, your name and role, one contact route, the tools your business appears to use, the reason we thought the approach was relevant, and the source and date.

Why. To offer you a service we think is relevant to your business. The lawful basis is legitimate interest. We have written down the assessment behind that and we will share it with you if you want to see it.

How long. If you tell us you are not interested, we delete the research and keep only the minimum needed to make sure we do not contact you again. If you do not reply, we delete everything after twelve months. If we researched you but never made contact, we delete after six months.

Saying no

If you tell us to stop contacting you, we stop. Immediately, permanently, and across every method - email, telephone and post - not just the one you replied to. You do not have to give a reason and you do not have to use particular words.

Cookies and tracking

This website sets no tracking cookies and runs no third-party analytics. We do not know who visits, we do not follow you around the internet, and there is nothing here to consent to.

Our web server keeps ordinary access logs, and our contact form briefly holds the IP address a submission came from so that we can stop the form being abused. That is held in memory only, for a short period, and is not linked to you or kept.

Who else sees your information

Nobody, other than the hosting provider that runs our server and mail, who process it on our instructions and cannot use it for anything else. We do not sell, share, rent or trade your information, and we do not send it outside the UK.

We do not use your information to train any AI system, and we do not put your data into one.

Your rights

You have the right to:

• ◆Ask what we hold about you, and get a copy
• ◆Have it corrected if it is wrong
• ◆Have it deleted
• ◆Object to us using it - and for direct marketing, that right is absolute. If you object, we stop, with no argument and no balancing exercise
• ◆Ask us to restrict what we do with it
• ◆Complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk, or on 0303 123 1113, if you think we have got this wrong. We would rather you told us first so we can fix it, but you do not have to

We will answer any of these within a month, and usually a good deal faster.

Changes to this notice

If we change how we handle information we will update this page and change the date at the top.
